“When The Receiver Is Ready…

The Giver Appears.

Sometimes getting what you want in life is simply a matter of being able to receive. Working hard to reach your goals is obviously good and rewarding but being open and able to receive can actually bring about things that were beyond your goals and expectations. The ability to receive comes with being open, optimistic, having faith and truly knowing that you are deserving! Most of us want things while holding onto an uncomfortable sense of anxiety inside about not having it, not knowing how to get it or feeling like “there’s no way I’m going to get that“… where is the faith? Where is the sense of deserving? Where is the knowledge that you are loved beyond measure and that you are ever worthy?

Receiving can also mean receiving help and assistance, guidance, signs, pointers, advice, insights, intuitions… which can all be of great value whilst creating the life you wish to live. Most of us are uncomfortable with receiving… either we are wired to feel some guilt with receiving or we don’t feel worthy of what we want and desire. The overly independent types feel a sense of weakness attached to even the thought of receiving and some people are just not familiar with the concept of receiving due to childhood experiences… whatever it is, it’s holding back blessings, gifts and assistance that would otherwise enrich your life.

The ability to receive begins with the making of a choice to receive – being willing and open. Once you have set such an intention it puts things in motion. Having an attitude of love and gratitude conjures up miracles and attracts new blessings. Gratitude and love opens the heart to receive.

“When you appreciate something or someone, you receive it as well as give to it – it is a beautiful exchange of energy.”

Being aware of your self-worth as a living being fully deserving of all good things, is a definite component in receiving. This step is harder than all others because if you don’t understand what you are above your human form you cannot believe in your true worth and your right to all good things. There’s nothing you have to do or be to deserve… you are already deserving. If you feel you have done wrong and therefore are not worthy, you should try forgiving yourself for things of the past so you can stop denying yourself love and good things in the future – it is a good place to start reconstructing your sense of self.

Practice receiving. Notice how you react when someone pays you a compliment or a close friend offers to pay for lunch… Do you let it in? Do you feel grateful and appreciative? or do you deflect, deny or resist? Do you welcome or accept it easily and naturally, or do you feel self-conscious, embarrassed or uncomfortable? If you are experiencing such negative feelings toward receiving you have negative beliefs due to past experiences and programming that do not serve you.

When you are faced with good news or you manifest even the smallest of your desires acknowledge and celebrate it! Be grateful! Be in touch with what it feels like to receive, how good it feels and how lovely it is to be blessed. When you experience the positive feelings of receiving, acknowledge them so they can grow.

The Universe is at your service as you are at its. Ask and be READY to receive and feel nothing but gratitude just as a flower receives nourishment from the earth and the rays of the sun and owes nothing in return but to simply be itself!

“And you receivers – and you are all receivers – assume no weight of gratitude, lest you lay a yoke upon yourself and upon him who gives. Rather rise together with the giver on his gifts as on wings; For to be overmindful of your debt, is to doubt his generosity who has the free-hearted earth for mother, and God for father.”

Kahlil Gibran (1883 – 1931)

  1. Interesting thoughts Saffron! But I am not sure if I would buy into it. I mean there have been plenty of occassions in my life when I have been so confident of success to find out to my and everyone elses surprise that I have failed. So clearly it cannot be because I didnt feel ready to receive or because I had self-doubt? I have read this kind of theory in Anthony Robbins’ books. Anyway I might make more of an effort now that “Saffronsays” so too! (Did you see what I did there? Clever ha? lol)

  2. After having a read of the above and looking back at my years in “life on earth” I can agree with confidence everything expressed here is true. Most people and I mean majority live life with a “receive first attitude” instead of a “give first” If we understand the laws of the universe similar to the laws of gravity that states you will hit the ground if you jump off a building no matter if you are a “good , bad, black, white, religious or not” …you WILL hit the group

Using the approach there are laws of this universe and one of them is the art of learning to give to others first as in being in an attitude of gratitude, when you are in a gratitude and grateful for all the many aspects of life we have, eg : our eyes to see then we are in attitude to notice all the positive areas of life that exist and than energy transmits to other creatures be it humans or any living thing …..and you will receive back the same energy.

Simply put give out bad energy and thoughts , expect to receive from others the same energy.

How do we change, simple do the opposite.

Some of the most profound things in life are so simple ….that does not require complex though processes, similar to how grass grows without any stress….
